As a bartender, it is important to remain aware of potential problems and to take steps to prevent them from occurring. If you want to know how to become a bartender simply look at your current job and life experiences and think about how your skill set can be applied to bartending. You have to be able to think quick on your feet, another words make quick decisions.
Having a good staff room gives bartenders a place to relax and unwind after a crazy shift behind the bar. If you have given any references on your resume, inform the persons in question about the referral before hand, because the referrals are always cross checked. Bartenders will also need to keep cloth on hand as well, to quickly clean up spills and wipe down the mixing area from time to time.
